Carlos Cardounel
Carlos Cardounel is Senior Vice President and General Manager for Basic Industries Division at Nalco Water, an Ecolab company. In this capacity, he leads teams focused on providing innovative solutions for sustainability, profitability and productivity to customers in the Primary Metals and Mining industries around the world.
Prior to this, Carlos held a variety of positions at Nalco Water, including Vice President & General Manager Global Mining based in Naperville, IL; Associate Vice President Latin America Mining based in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Associate Vice President Global Corporate Accounts - Mining based in Perth, Australia; and Vice President of Business Development – Industrial Mergers & Acquisitions, Saint Paul, MN.
Carlos has been with Nalco Water since 2012 focused primarily on the global mining segment with two years in corporate strategy/business development.
Prior to joining Nalco Water, Carlos held progressive leadership positions at Titan Cement and Aggregates. During those 10 years he led sales and operations teams, and served as director of technology reporting to the CEO. Before Titan, Carlos spent 10 years with Reynolds Metals Company Mining and Minerals Division progressing from process engineer to quality director.
Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering.
