The Nalco Water MONITOR™ software is an advanced heat transfer modeling program that determines the performance of critical exchangers and tracks energy savings at the furnace. MONITOR determines the cost of heat exchanger fouling and the optimum cleaning frequency. It can also monitor the effectiveness of chemistries and operating procedures, allowing refiners to select the most appropriate and economical strategy to meet their energy management goals.
Heat Exchanger Modeling
Evaluating heat exchanger fouling rates is critical to energy management. While there are various ways to track individual exchangers, true understanding of the impact of fouling must be based on understanding an exchanger's influence on a whole network of exchangers as well as its individual performance. With an understanding of the exchanger's impact on the total network, a refiner can schedule cleaning for maximum economic benefit.
We developed the MONITOR program to review individual exchangers and combine the data to look at the total network.
